I have 2 cats. Kalou - a 6 yr old and Oakley a 6 month old kitten. We got Oakley after our other cat passed away. He and Kalou were best buds. Oakley and Kalou sometimes get along but it is totally random. One minute they are snuggling together (this does not happen often) and the next minute, Oakley is chasing Kalou which he hates. Kalou will hiss but it's like Oakley doesn't understand when enough is enough.

Issue 1 - Aggression towards our 6 year old cat

Oakley is constantly chasing out 6 yr old cat Kalou, and jumps on his back where Kalou can't get away from him. We put Oakley (the kitten) in a time out but as soon as we let him out, he goes after Kalou again. We are constantly playing with him and trying to redirect him but need new suggestions. Getting another kitten isn't an option though.

Issue 2 Oakley is constantly getting into everything.

Right now he climbs into the Christmas tree, chews wires, etc. We never have had this problem with our other cats so are looking for new suggestions. We have 2 cat trees in the house, window perches, lots of toys that we use to play with him but he is always attracted to the few things he is not supposed to be around.

    what we have tried:

    - squirt bottle with water

    - time outs

Please any suggestions would be appreciated. We love Oakley and just want him to be safe in the house with our other cat. Thank you!
