I just googled it and it says up to 30 mph. I know the way my cats zip around the house at times, I swear they are air born. They sure can move when they want to. lol

I think cats are amazing, they are engineered for speed and stealth. That is probably why I am so in love with them. Of course I wish I could emulate their lazy, stress free, play-whenever-possible attitudes. I've been on an atkins-type diet for over a year now, which is sort of similar to the natural high protein/low carbohydrate diet of cats. The increase of my energy levels has been awesome.

:D:D:D I am not surprise. I remember when Twinkle first found an escape I would try to catch him with no success. I remember calling in my son who was much faster but no match for Twinkle. He was definitely a sprinter.

Cats are genetically related to leopards that explains their speed.:):)

As K9 trainer and owner of fully certified k9patrol dog we were often challenged by unknowing people who thought they could out run my German Shepherd Dog, the standard bet was a big bag of dog food. My dog never went hungry.LOL. NOT EVEN HUSAIN BOLT CAN OT DASH THEM FOR 100 yds. The Malinowski is about 5 mph faster than the GSD. We used to call them a furry bulletThe had was a furry cannon as they are nearly 50 pounds heavier. A direct hit from either breed will flatten a big strong man. Unprotected you could lose a couple pounds of flesh plus be very lucky not to come away without broken bones. Even fully protected I had a number trips to the ER.

cats percentage of “kills” per attempts is only about 40%still pretty good. If there is prey few starve. In some places specifics breeds are banned as if they escape they can disrupt the ecosystem. We have 3 feral cats in the n
Community and noticeably fewer birds and complete lack of mice.
My new cat will be indoors only except when out walking on leash. She will have plenty of cat toys to “hunt” in the house.

she won’t be a fat cat as I like fitness and pets get their share.
