    We may think we know a cat’s emotions with a simple glance but in reality every cat has its own specific personality and cannot be categorized based on its breed or background. Understanding your cat’s basic body language can help strengthen the bond you have with your pet and allow you to respond quickly in a dangerous situation.

    Unlike dogs, who are pack animals and very social in the wild, cats in their natural environment are often alone and can go for long periods of time without interaction with other cats, according to Animal Planet. Because of this, cats have very little need for a system of visual communication and use their instinctual body language to communicate to each other and anyone else they encounter.
