My Birman boy is nearly 14 and has kidney disease but is very much normal with the exception of not using the litter tray at night and pooping in the floor. He is locked downstairs at night and this has been happening for the last 6 months. The vets think it could be early dementia but he appears ok other than this. Although occasionally he does stare into space and goes from not eating for a couple of days to eating loads the next day to make up for it.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of this themselves to offer any advice? Thanks
