My name is Leslie and I live in Idaho. I adopted a cat from the humane society about 2 weeks ago. I'm a bit of a novice with cats. This guy I named Teddy is about a year old and already love him to bits. As time goes by I will probably have lots of questions. For right now I have one question maybe someone can answer to me. When either my husband or I go to pet him he will flinch and pull back. Especially with my husband. I know dogs that have been hit will do that but don't know if that's the case with cats. Is this normal ? We are trying to very gently and slowly pet him so he can learn no one will hurt him but then this is just the norm and how it will always be ? Appreciate any advice or input. Thanks, Leslie
