A new cat-o-phile!

Hi to all fellow cat-lovers,
I'm new to CatHow and I am sooo glad to have found a website full of folks who love cats! I've worked in animal rescue for a number of years now (rescuing Malamutes), but I've had some adventures rescuing cats--jumping in canals and snagging kittens off the streets of Los Angeles. We now have four cats (I didn't really want to take a fourth cat, but...) and a big, furry Malamute who is cat-friendly.

When not rescuing, I work as a writer/illustrator. I cannot imagine my writing life without my cats. They are goofy, intelligent, dumb as a box of rocks, jealous, competitive, loveable--sometimes all at the same time. I find them infinitely more fascinating than most of the people I know. The picture below is of three of the guys: Zachary, age 15; Hannibal, age 9; and Vanguard, age 16.5. "The cats aren't allowed on the kitchen counter." Like most rules pertaining to cats, this one is subject to negotiation.
