    Hello,

I have 4 year old male spaded Persian who started urinating in different locations in our house. He does number 2 in his litter box and on occasions also uses the litter for urination. I took him to the Vet and they stated he had the beginnings of cystitis and we put him on wet prescription cat food. They also gave him an antibiotic injection that lasts 10 days. This has made no difference and he continues to urinate in spots around the house-he does this more at night. There are some cats that he sees through the windows and am wondering if he is marking his territory. If we let him out he does not pee in the house. We avoid letting him out because he is declawed front paws. I have never had a cat do this although most of the cats we have had in the past were female. He eats and drinks well is playful and social as usual. I have cleaned the areas where he pees with Natures Urine Destroyer which does not help. Any suggestions on how to manage/fix this problem is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It seems to me the key clue to this dilemma is that he pees readily outside but not inside. Can he be secured in a large box with a tray overnight for several nights, hopefully peeing in the tray? Keep this up until you think he has got used to using the tray. Another key factor is cystitis. I suspect that if he still has cystitis, he does not have much control of his waterworks.
