Is your cat's coat long or short? Do you trim it to keep it at a particular length or does it just stay where it needs to naturally? Is your house covered in their hair? Is it hard to keep up with it when they are moulting? Our cat had a medium length coat. We never cut it, it just stayed where it needed to be. Our house was covered in animal hair (mostly from our dogs) but since we were not very "houseproud" we did not really care too much.

I've always had short haired cats because all my cats were strays that I took in.
I've never seen a stray long haired cat. For some reason people don't abandon long haired cats. They must be expensive.

Or maybe it's a Florida thing and there are more long haired strays in colder climates. I don't see Persians or ragdolls wandering the streets here.

We have 4 cats and 3 are short haired and one is long haired. Three of these were strays and one of them was the fuzzy one. He was odd because when I found him as a small kitten, he had short hair and as he got bigger, his hair got longer and longer. He has the biggest, prettiest, fluffiest tail I have ever seen on a cat. I have been around cats all of my life and when we were kids we had both long and short haired cats. All the long haired ones were long haired to begin with, so I was shocked when this one became longhaired as he got older.

Yes, there is cat hair in the house, especially where they lay, but it doesn't bother me. I do clean and vacuum it up, but my house isn't cat hair spotless. I do try to keep them away from our clothes as I don't like going out anywhere with cat hair all over me.

One of our cats is medium hair and the other is short hair. We never trim them because they're comfortable where it is, plus our house is temperature controlled so they're always comfy. Our house is always covered in hair, but we have lots of animals! I feel like if you don't expect animal hair to be everywhere, maybe you shouldn't have animals? Or just expect to spend a lot of time cleaning. I would rather just except the hair!

I have one cat with a long coat and two short coat cats. The short coat cats are so easy to care for. My long haired friend has to be brushed daily and needs to go in for grooming. He is prone to matting. You would think that he would leave hair all over, but he doesn't The short haired cats are ALWAYS shedding.

My cat's coat is really short. I like that since is easier to keep the house free from hair, and I don't have to be so careful with his coat. Plus he is all black :p Just like a small black panther! I'd still like to have a long haired cat, I feel so attracted to the norwegian forest cat :) That is one of my favorite cat breeds in the whole world!
