How often should we bath our cat?

    I've always wonder how often cats should be bathed. I'm bathing mine twice a month only, he has a short black coat... so I can't really see when he gets dirty or anything like that. I have no idea how often I should be bathing him. Does anyone know what the right frequency to bath a cat is?

    I'd really appreciate your advice :) I'm afraid to bath my cat too often; my vet told me that bathing a dog too often was a bad idea (because you are removing their natural oils). Is the same with cats?
