Do You Have A Shedder? How Often to Comb?

    If you have a longer haired cat who sheds a lot, how often to do you give a thorough combing/grooming? Our cat seems to be shedding more... and when there's more fur, there are of course more hairballs and I don't really want to start down that path. :(

    Do you use any special kind of comb, or just a customary "cat fur comb?"

    My pug is such a shedder, but thankfully my standard schnauzer isn't. I use just a normal dog comb for my pug, I try to get all that hair first in the morning, that way most of her hair stays in the trash instead of my bed or furniture :)
