Animals definitely have a healing effect on people that are sick or depressed. I hope more hospitals and therapists start using shelter animals for rehab instead of putting the animals to sleep.

That is amazing! I have heard of a lot of local programs in Los Angeles that use cats for therapy with seniors. It helps to lower their blood pressure and release some stress when they are petting them. Local shelters team up with assisted living homes and senior centers to provide this and I think it's pretty nice for the cats too.

And wow, the cat is very tolerant and calm-natured. There is no way mine would be able to handle being in an environment like that without freaking out. It's incredible just how much she has helped him, too. So awesome.
